The substance is crucial
ForumMIRO, held regularly by the Bundesverband Mineralische Rohstoffe (MIRO – Federal German Mineral Resources Association), has definitely developed into the leading event for the German mineral resources industry. The fifth industry meeting under this general heading is again essentially modelled on a lively workshop concept. The keynote speech at the opening of the event will be given by the renowned architect Prof. Dr. Meinhard von Gerkan. With this choice of speaker, MIRO, as the representative of the interests of the mineral resources and building materials producers, is underscoring the importance of the extraction and processing of resources for the entire construction industry.
At this year’s ForumMIRO, comprehensive information in combination with practical value will be offered to company owners as well as technically and commercially responsible employees in the operations of the German mineral resources and building materials industry. The programme with parallel workshops addresses issues such as securing the future supply of resources, biodiversity, conveying systems, screen and separation technology and the society-relevant issue of infrastructural development and the energy turnaround in Germany and the interplay with the necessary contribution of the resources and construction materials industry. As always, the Forum will be supported by an extensive trade exhibition at which the attendees will find additional information for their specific investment ideas.
As in previous years, the best-placed contestants in the MIRO-occupational health and safety competition received their awards and certificates. New element on the opening evening of the event is the presentation of the awards to the winners of the readers’ choice for the product or brand of 2012. The competition was initiated this year by the MIRO working committee on extraction and processing technology and the trade journal GesteinsPerspektiven GP. In future, the competition will regularly highlight products and services which the players in the field deem worthy of special praise as problem solvers.
Based on the current level of registrations, the organizers are expecting around 500 attendees. The exhibition with around 70 stands will have characteristics of small trade fair.
