No chance of belt slippage

To eliminate belt slippage in belt conveyors as used in mining, steelworks or wood processing, the operator has to select a suitable lagging for the drive pulley. Only then can the drive and braking power be constantly introduced into the conveyor belt – without the pulley getting worn. With its Flex-Lag series of products, Flexco Europe GmbH can supply the right solution (Fig.).

Between pulley and belt there is a frictional connection that transmits the power. So as to prevent any slippage, the wear on the running side of the belt conveyor as well as on the drive pulley must be minimized. Sticky material, the deformation behaviour of the materials or, for example, use in wet or dry operation can have a significant effect on the aging of the components. So operators can ensure a long lifetime, Flexco can supply them with the optimum pulley lagging to meet their needs.

The rubber pulley lagging ensures optimum power transmission with a long lifetime – even when the belt conveyor is working in wet and muddy applications. The user can install it quickly and easily. It is designed with a smooth surface or – if it is used to drain off water – with a diamond pattern. It is suitable for pulley diameters from 300-1800 mm and is available in all widths. The “weld-on” rubber lagging has a smooth profile and can be used in combination with cleaners without any problems. It reduces vibrations in the belt and therefore prevents chattering of the cleaners.

Ceramics for the toughest conditions

With frictional lagging made of ceramic, the operator is given a solution that ensures zero-slippage operation in a wide range of applications. With the hardness and associated wear resistance, they boast long service lifetimes. The user therefore has to change the belt much more rarely, avoiding plant downtime. Flexco therefore includes pulley lagging with a diamond pattern in its range. This is suitable for dry as well as for wet and muddy applications. With a ceramic coverage of 15 %, it can withstand high loads. It also enables very good power transmission. The user can install it on pulleys with diameters from 300-1800 mm.

To withstand extreme stresses, Flexco supplies pulley lagging with a ceramic content of 80 %. In this series of products, it has the highest friction coefficient. The operator can use it in dry, wet and muddy conditions and for diameters of 300-1800 mm. It is available in belt widths from 400-2000 mm. The “weld-on” pulley lagging is not only available in rubber, but also with a ceramic coverage of 74 %. It is therefore suitable for very tough application conditions. The lagging prevents vibrations in the belt and chattering of the cleaners. It is the optimum solution whenever maximum power transmission and very quiet running are required. It is suitable for pulley diameters from 400-1800 mm and belt widths from 400-800 mm.
