A must-attend event with national and international visitors
Reporting 25 % more visitors than in the previous year, SCHÜTTGUT and RECYCLING-TECHNIK closed the doors of the Westfalenhallen, Dortmund’s exhibition centre, on 8 November following the two days of the trade fairs. 4300 trade visitors came to Dortmund and viewed the range on show at the stands, made new business contacts and initiated new business deals (Fig. 1). With 353 exhibiting companies –again 25 % more than in 2011, more companies than ever used the trade fairs as a networking opportunity to initiate and close business deals. The exhibitors expressed great satisfaction with the course of the event and especially with the talks at their exhibition stands (Fig. 2).
“For two years now we have exhibited at SCHÜTTGUT in Dortmund and it has already become a must-attend event for us,” said Christoph Hillebrand, Business Development Weighing Technologies, Siemens AG Industry Sector. “Moreover, in this year we had many national and international visitors at the stand. We were able to make some highly valuable contacts.” And RECYCLING-TECHNIK, with over 100 suppliers of recycling products and services, celebrated a successful première. Both trade fairs succeed in bringing together buyers and suppliers – they are used by them as a unique sales platform for initiating new business and closing sales deals. The range on show covers processing, handling, transport and storage of bulk solids as well as the processing and recycling of building materials, plastics, wood, glass, metal and paper. Trade visitors can find the latest products for weighing and mixing, separation and comminution of bulk solids as well as solutions for conveying, storage and packing, with safety and environmental aspects rounding off the range covered.
“As a longstanding exhibitor we use SCHÜTTGUT extremely successfully to sell our products and services – we made 32 completely new business contacts this year (and 70 contacts altogether). Decision-makers with concrete buying intentions and a good handful of orders underscore the significance of the trade fair for our company,” commented Stefan Penno, Managing Director at REMBE GmbH (Fig. 3). “For 2014 we have therefore gone further than just booking a stand and have registered for a premium partnership with SCHÜTTGUT in Dortmund, thereby sending out a signal to the solids sector.”
The dates for 2014 have already been finalized: SCHÜTTGUT and RECYCLING-TECHNIK will take place on 21.-22.05.2014 at the Westfalenhallen Dortmund. The concept has been further developed for 2014 and plans made for additional networking elements to provide greater opportunity to make new contacts as well as to strengthen existing contacts at a central business bar, two technical forums, a high-calibre, integrated keynote conference and a VIP & Speakers’ Lounge.
“With these new features and further development of the stand module design we are making the shows even more attractive for exhibitors and visitors,” says Daniel Eisele, Event Director for SCHÜTTGUT and RECYCLING-TECHNIK at easyFairs. Most of this year’s exhibitors have already rebooked for 2014.
In addition to recycling, the trade fair is widening its spectrum to embrace the topic of “multimodal transport”. An exhibition area together with a forum will be available for this in 2014.
