SOLIDS Dortmund 2014 is booming
About 400 exhibitors have already booked a stand for SOLIDS Dortmund (SCHÜTTGUT) and RECYCLING-TECHNIK 2014. A new hall 6 has been added; for the first time the show encompasses three exhibition halls. With 23 % new German exhibitors and 50 % growth in the number of foreign companies (compared to the previous edition), the show has increased both its offerings and its international appeal. The number of Dutch exhibitors alone has doubled to 22 companies. 60 presentations will be held in four lecture forums, and in the practical part of the first German Fire and Explosion Protection Congress, the participants can look forward to live explosion demonstrations and fire simulations.
The two shows, SOLIDS Dortmund (SCHÜTTGUT) and RECYCLING-TECHNIK, that open their doors on 21 and 22 May 2014 in Dortmund‘s Messe Westfalenhallen, have already reached a record growth. Halls 4 and 5 are both fully booked and in the newly-opened Hall 6, only 20 % of the exhibition space is still available. “ There are several factors to which we can attribute this incredible growth,” says Daniel Eisele, Exhibition Director at easyFairs. “For one, we have many returning partners and exhibitors who chose to display machines and therefore needed to somewhat increase the size of their stands; but then, of course, there is also the fact that 23 % of the exhibitors are new – with 50 % growth in the number of companies from abroad - compared to the last edition. The number of Dutch exhibitors alone has doubled, and the majority of this year‘s new exhibitors are participating for the first time ever in SOLIDS Dortmund (SCHÜTTGUT).”
For example, industry giants such as ContiTech, BEUMER Group, KAESER Kompressoren K.A. Schmersal, and SBM Mineral Processing, who will present their solutions and products for handling and processing solid and bulk goods at SOLIDS Dortmund 2014 (SCHÜTTGUT) . “SOLIDS Dortmund (SCHÜTTGUT) has become the most important trade show for solids technologies at its top-class location in the Ruhr region,” observes Dr. Gerd Oberheuser, Head of System Technology, BEUMER Machinery, Beckum. “We‘re participating for the first time as exhibitors and will be promoting our entire portfolio of equipment for conveying, loading, filling, palletising and packaging. That includes belt conveyors that can negotiate curves, bucket elevators, loading equipment for bulk materials, and high-performance systems for final packaging.” But there is also a number of small and medium-sized enterprises joining the exhibitors list for the first time. Companies such as Westerwald Trucks, Schleswiger Tauwerkfabrik Oellerking and SLV Shipping-Logistics-Transport will showcase their services and solutions for the loading and unloading of bulk materials as well as for bulk goods transport, thereby completing a new exhibition area of the show. Several Italian exhibitor stands, as well as a Dutch and Polish pavilion, round out the international offerings of the trade fair. In addition, the pavilions will tempt visitors with culinary treats typical of their countries.
Above and beyond the growth of the exhibition there is an expansion on content offered by the two shows: Fostering multi-faceted and intensive exchange of experience and know-how, the four lecture arenas will host a total of 60 presentations. Furthermore, the debut of the German Fire and Explosion Protection Congress will feature large-scale live explosion tests and fire simulations, to be conducted on the premises of the nearby DMT.“Our focus this year is on technical inter-communication with experts. Alongside the classic visitor lounge, our innovative Business Bar at the centre of Hall 4 will be a novel combination of exhibition, networking and gastronomy,” explains Sandrina Josephs, easyFairs Marketing Project Manager for the show. “Topic-specific guided tours and an interactive visitor contest are also among the new highlights provided for attendees.”
The first German Fire and Explosion Protection Congress with live explosion demonstrations
For the first time, the German Fire and Explosion Protection Congress, organised in cooperation with IND EX® e.V. (Intercontinental Association of Experts for INDustrial EXplosion Protection e.V.), will take place in parallel with the trade shows SOLIDS Dortmund 2014 (SCHÜTTGUT) and RECYCLING-TECHNIK 2014. The interdisciplinary conference unites thematically the areas of fire protection and explosion protection, providing professionals from both sectors an ideal platform to inform themselves on the topic of industrial fire and explosion protection. The concept behind the congress, with its combination of theoretical lectures and practical demonstrations, is to provide participants with ample time for networking with speakers from both focus areas. For example, Professor Dr. Ulrich Krause of the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg will give a lecture on “Recent Findings on Risk Assessments of Bio-Gas Plants”. Mr Jens Hötger, graduate engineer and expert at DMT in Dortmund, will illustrate the “Safe Handling of Fires and Explosions in Solids Silos and Storage Facilities”, and Dr. Marc Scheid, Fire & Explosion Hazard Assessor at Swiss-based Syngenta Crop Protection AG (Münchwilen), will address the question, “How does the global corporation Syngenta apply the latest studies to the fire and explosion hazards arising from chemical compounds?” The highlight of the two-day event, taking place on the afternoon of Wednesday, 21 May 2014, will be a world premiere! The congress attendees can look forward to exclusive, live explosion and fire simulations performed on the premises of DMT Fire and Explosion Protection in Dortmund – never before shown in such form or magnitude.
easyFairs expands to Russia
As a part of the expansion of the Solids European Series, Europe‘s largest series of trade shows specialised on solids technology, Solids Russia 2015 will debut on 27 and 28 May 2015 in St. Petersburg. “Companies interested in reaching a new market with Solids Russia 2015 can take confidence in the expertise, collected through years of experience in the bulk material industry, that easyFairs has collected as organiser of the Solids European Series,” states Daniel Eisele, Group Event Director of the Solids European Series. Solids Russia is a so-called ‘Conf-Ex’, a multi-show format that links conference and exhibition closely together. The trade event offers international companies the opportunity to network and make business contacts with Russian trade visitors. The newly built congress and trade fair complex, ExpoForum St. Petersburg, offers an ideal and modern setting for the innovative conference programme.
SOLIDS Dortmund 2014 & RECYCLING-TECHNIK 2014
Around 400 companies are expected to exhibit at SOLIDS Dortmund (SCHÜTTGUT) 2014 and RECYCLING-TECHNIK 2014. The exhibition covers the processing, handling, transportation and storage of bulk goods, as well as the processing and recycling of building materials and plastics, wood, glass, metal and paper. The visitors will find the latest products for, among others, weighing and mixing, filtering and crushing of solids. Rounding out the range of topics will be solutions for conveying, storing and packaging of bulk goods, as well as for addressing safety and environmental issues.
