SOLIDS European Series at six locations
St Petersburg, Rotterdam, Krakow and Dortmund, the SOLIDS European Series has evolved into the biggest bulk solids network worldwide. All venues share a key asset: they are all located in economically and industrially important centres in Europe, thereby providing exhibitors with high customer potential.
A Review: SOLIDS Basel 2015 –
leading trade fair for decision-makers and experts
With more than 1000 visitors to the fourth show, SOLIDS Basel 2015 has reconfirmed its position in Switzerland as a leading trade fair for granules, powder and bulk solids technologies (Fig. 1). “The discussions on site and the positive feedback from the 83 exhibitors have been very gratifying,” says Daniel Eisele, Event Director for the show organizer, Easyfairs. “The national flagship show on process engineering for solids and powders has again proven its intrinsic value here in Switzerland.”
On 6 and 7 May 2015, decision-makers – suppliers and investors – used SOLIDS Basel 2015 as a platform for intensive networking and concentrated business. At the trade fair, the exhibitors – a mixture of regional and international key players – showcased process engineering for handling all types of bulk solids. The exhibitors were showing products, solutions and services especially for feeding/metering, measuring, screening, mixing, comminution and transport. The range is relevant for many industries: the foodstuffs industry, the chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries, as well as mechanical engineering, construction and civil engineering, mining, waste management, and recycling.
To accompany the trade exhibition, Easyfairs, the trade fair organizer, worked together with partner organizations to offer an attractive support programme with high-calibre talks and best practice reports from renowned specialists. Very well received by the trade public was the première of an intensive workshop co-arranged with IND EX® e.V. on industrial explosion protection on the afternoon of the first day of the trade fair. The talks on recycling technology, hygienic design with EHEDG Switzerland and bulk solids technologies were also well attended. Informative offerings such as the guided tours enabled the trade visitors to get a quick and efficient overview of the range on show at the trade fair.
The next SOLIDS Basel is set to take place on 16 and 17 November 2016. More information is available at //www.solids-basel.com" target="_blank" >www.solids-basel.com:www.solids-basel.com
An Overview: SOLIDS Dortmund 2015 –
Germany’s largest innovation platform for bulk solids and recycling technologies in 2015
The signs continue to point to growth for the 7th edition of SOLIDS and for the 3rd edition of RECYCLING-TECHNIK Dortmund 2015. Following the resounding success of the event in May 2014, preparations for the next edition of SOLIDS and RECYCLING-TECHNIK Dortmund are in full swing (Fig. 2). On 4 and 5 November 2015, the trade fair duo for granules, powders and bulk solids as well as recycling technologies will be offering a comprehensive overview in Halls 4, 5, 6, and 7 at Dortmund Westfalenhallen.
SOLIDS Dortmund 2015 showcases the entire value creation chain from comminution, weighing, mixing, sorting, filtering and metering through storage to transport of bulk solids. Around 400 well-known exhibitors have already registered five months before the trade fair. Halls 4, 5 and 6 are already booked up. Taking place at the same time is the 3rd edition of RECYCLING-TECHNIK, trade fair for recycling, environmental engineering and urban mining. “By opening Hall 7 for RECYCLING-TECHNIK, we are giving the trade fair a stronger profile and will meet the needs of the recycling industry,” says Daniel Eisele. In 2014, half of all trade visitors said that they were interested in the products and solutions from recycling technology suppliers.
The two trade fairs offer the visitor numerous synergies as they are closely associated in terms of their technical focus and related topics. More information is available at //www.solids-dortmund.c" target="_blank" >www.solids-dortmund.c:www.solids-dortmund.com; www.recycling-technik.com
New partnership with URBAN MINING e.V.
and continue cooperation with IND EX® e.V.
The strong focus on the content design of SOLIDS & RECYCLING-TECHNIK Dortmund 2015 offers trade visitors and exhibitors added value. Besides the expansion of the trade exhibition to four halls, in 2015 two integrated trade fair congresses will for the first time be held parallel to the trade fairs:
The 2nd German Congress on Fire and Explosion Protection will be held in cooperation with IND EX® e.V. (Intercontinental Association of Experts for INDustrial EXplosion Protection e.V.) parallel to SOLIDS Dortmund. The interdisciplinary congress combines the topics of the fire and explosion protection industries and provides the perfect mixture of theory-based papers, practical demonstrations and time for networking.
The 6th URBAN MINING® Congress 2015 is taking place for the first time parallel to RECYCLING-TECHNIK 2015. With this, Easyfairs has concluded a partnership with URBAN MINING e.V. Declared aim is to collaborate on a sustainable basis and jointly canvas for the events on the market. Against the background of ever scarcer raw materials, the URBAN MINING Congress is setting its sights on optimum recovery of used resources. At the congress, experts are gathering to a meeting for the entire German industry.
Suprregional importance
Key feature of SOLIDS in Basel and Dortmund is their outstanding international integration: they are part of the Solids European Series – Europe’s largest series of trade fairs for bulk solids technologies. At the six shows, a total of 14 000 trade visitors meet more than 1100 exhibitors at the heart of industrial conurbations.
