SOLIDS and RECYCLING-TECHNIK 2014 in Dortmund
Following SOLIDS and RECYCLING-TECHNIK Dortmund 2012, the sixth edition of the trade fair to be held from 21 to 22 May 2014 is on course on further growth: so far over 360 exhibitors have booked a stand – an increase of 25 % compared to 2012. This positive exhibitor response enabled the addition of a third exhibition hall, Hall 6, for the trade fair duo.
“The growth of the trade fair is reflected in our order books, For us, SOLIDS Dortmund has long become a fixed date in our diary,” says Detlef Domke von Bichowski, Sales Manager at HOSCH-Fördertechnik Recklinghausen GmbH and exhibitor since the first edition of SOLIDS Dortmund.
Following its successful première in 2012, RECYCLING-TECHNIK is again being held parallel to SOLIDS Dortmund. The synergies offered by the combination of these two trade fairs with their different focuses convinced suppliers and users in 2012. Many exhibitors of SOLIDS Dortmund offer concrete solutions for bulk solids technologies from the field of recycling and waste management. Visitors to SOLIDS Dortmund visit the stands of the exhibitors from recycling engineering to find out about new solutions in internal recycling processes so as to actively lower their production costs.
The growth of the trade fair also requires from the trade fair organizer, easyFairs Germany GmbH, continuous further development of the trade fair concept. “Increasing the attractiveness of the trade fairs for exhibitors and visitors is important to us,” says Daniel Eisele, Event Director at easyFairs Germany for SOLIDS and RECYCLING-TECHNIK Dortmund. “The further development of the exhibition stands and the integration of additional networking possibilities like the central Business Bar and the VIP & Speakers Lounge give exhibitors and visitors added value. In an attractive business environment, new contacts can be made and existing contacts can be deepened. In addition, we extended the exhibition areas. For the first time, sections for bulk solids transport and associated services have been added to the exhibition portfolio.”
Besides searching for new contacts and cultivating existing business contacts, 50 % of the around 4300 trade fair visitors claimed in the visitor survey that they were looking for concrete solutions for existing products and innovations. The show programme of lectures and seminars meets the need for scientific know-how and promotes contact between suppliers and users.
For the first time, parallel to SOLIDS and RECYCLING-TECHNIK Dortmund 2014, a Congress on Fire and Explosion Protection will take place. On the two days of the trade fair, easyFairs Germany is cooperating with INDEX e.V. to offer a combination of theory-based lectures on the exhibition site and practical demonstrations on the site of the Centre for Fire and Explosion Protection in Dortmund. In the programme of papers on the trade fair grounds, the two disciplines of fire and explosion protection will be brought together. Experts from science and the practical field, including Prof. Dr. Ulrich Krause (Otto-von-GuerickeUniversity of Magdeburg) and Dipl.-Ing. Richard Siwek, Managing Director of FireEx Consultant GmbH, will speak on the latest research findings and build a bridge between the two sectors.
On three lecture stages, innovations, trends and product developments from bulk solids technologies, recycling engineering and multimodal transport will be presented. The Innovation Center (learnShops) is a long-standing feature at the trade fair. Here the speakers will engage in direct discussion with the users, present innovative solution approaches and give answers to concrete visitor questions.
