20.08.2013 / Membership without tariff commitment

Should the association be open to a membership without tariff commitment in the future? This was the basic decision open to the members of the Employers’ Association of Mineral Building Materials (UVMB) during this year’s general meeting as part of the association days in Magdeburg on 6th and 7th June 2013. The pros and cons of a memberships without tariff commitment, for which application had been made by some member companies, was actively discussed last year. This is not a question of granting the possibility of wage dumping to member companies. This was firmly rejected by the entrepreneurs. They spoke out in favour of a fair remuneration. However, companies which are not able to abide by tariff regulations for various different reasons, should have the opportunity to join the association or to remain in it. In a secret ballot, the majority of the members voted in favour of a modification of the articles of the association.
