ABMEC (The British Mining Trade Association) welcomes new member Dräger, one of the leading international companies that produces safety products to protect, support and save lives in some of the most challenging environments as well as EPG Global, one of the leading preeminent equipment and machinery extended warranty providers with over 30 years’ experience.

Dräger’s technical solutions are dedicated to the improvement of mine safety, from respiratory protection and gas detectors to self-contained self-rescuers and refuge shelters for emergency situations. For generations, miners have depended on products from Dräger to protect their lives. With 15 000 employees working across 50 countries, Dräger’s products not only give peace of mind to miners and tunnellers, but also to their loved ones above ground. ABMEC President, Paul Freeman commented: “I have been working with Draeger products for all of my 46 years working in the mining industry, and am delighted they have joined the association.” The Director General, Jane Isaacs said, that Draeger’s membership was an added bonus to the association, as it provides more links in the supply chain, which ultimately helps members as well as operating companies in finding world-class mining products.

World-leading manufacturers entrust EPG to manage their extended warranty programmes, and the company has provided warranties on hundreds of thousands of machines worldwide. With backing from the world’s leading, financially secure insurance companies, EPG’s customers can be confident that any accepted claims will be paid. A fact that could even bring a competitive edge to companies in the British mining supply chain who operate on the world stage. ABMEC President, Paul Freeman commented “it’s great to see ABMEC membership profiles diversifying into all forms of support for the mining industry.” Director General, Jane Isaacs said how pleasing it was to see a new member participating in ABMEC events, including the Networking Day, Annual Conference and the regular ABMEC CHATs.

ABMEC is the only association representing the whole British mining supply chain. Established almost 100 years ago, it continues to provide member services to help promote sales and business growth, both in the UK and globally.
