With a US$ 4.82 billion investment the Toromocho open pit mine has become the ­largest and most important industrial project in Peru in the last decade. It has generated 2500 direct­ jobs and 7500 indirect jobs and has increased the national production of copper by 17 %. These numbers are clear indicators of the benefits of this ambitious project
