bauma 2010 – Effective separation processes
At bauma 2010 allmineral will present the latest generation of high capacity alljig®-gravel jigging machines and allair® air-pulsed jigging machines, along with future developments in efficient fine particle processing. allmineral offers machines and complete plants for upgrading sand, gravel, crushed stone, coal, ore and recycled materials (Fig. 1). The technology is based on academic principals and practical experience. Literally hundreds of alljig®-jigging machines are operating at a variety of aggregate and coal facilities in Europe and the US. A growing number of ore and slag producers are learning of the benefits offered by allmineral’s line of machines and services.
Dry processing is increasingly becoming important, especially in the fields of coal processing and materials recycling. This is partly due to the large demand from India, where more than 30 allair®-plants for coal processing are operating. For the first time, allmineral presents to the public a simplified air jig controller and advanced machine design, which features significantly higher throughput rates. These advances will expand the economic application of dry processing for coal, and allow increased utilization of coal.
Also, there are new developments in the field of fine particle processing. allmineral’s sand processing plants now include a recently developed software package, which ensures a pre-set particle-size distribution curve for sand products, even with significant feed variations. On the one hand, there are exceptionally compact units with capacities of less than 100 t/h, and on the other hand, there are allflux® installations with extraordinarily high throughputs of more than 500 t/h per machine (Fig. 2). All of the machines are designed to remove deleterious materials while also classifying sands into fine, middle and coarse categories with exceptional precision.
Worldwide, demand in the steel and energy markets are increasing while the quality of extracted raw materials is decreasing, which means the efficient processing of ores and coal is critical. allmineral initially became involved in iron ore processing during the mid-1990s when two alljig-jigging machines were sold to BHP in Australia. Since then, more than sixty jigging machines specifically designed for iron ore processing have been commissioned. Recently, allmineral’s allflux® technology has been employed in India for classifying and enriching iron ores. allmineral Asia Pvt. Ltd. is currently erecting additional iron ore processing plants, and has established allmineral as the go-to problem solver for the iron ore market in India. In this market segment, over 50 machines have been sold; of these 50 eight are gaustec® wet high-intensity magnetic separators. Developed by Gaustec, allmineral’s Brazilian partner; more than 40 of these machines have been sold worldwide in the last three years.
