Trade fair duo RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE impresses with practical live demos
For the third time in a row, RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE is making the most of its conceptual strength as a customer-oriented live demo trade show for machine technology and for the construction and environmental sectors.
On the 90 000 m² open-air site, around 180 exhibitors will be presenting the latest equipment for all areas of recycling valuable materials as well as the entire range of civil engineering machinery, in particular for canal, road and street and compact construction

From May 05 to 07, it offers a broad combination of topics compressed in one place: In addition to construction and attachments, material transport and handling and construction waste recycling form the junctions between the two sectors of the trade fair duo. “Fresher and with more innovations in our luggage than ever before, we are coming back – I am looking forward to the fact that we have once again been able to sharpen our clear profile as a practical live demo trade fair with the new demo formats. Especially a trade fair like RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE, which demonstrates complex machine technology in a practical way, thrives on the personal encounter of the industry and enables our visitors to get to know machines in real operation and to prepare their investment decisions on the basis of the generated market transparency or even to make them on site,” summarizes project manager Olivia Hogenmüller.
Exhibitors confirm the value of the trade fair
Despite the pandemic and the two-fold postponement, the fair counts some newcomers such as Siebtechnik Tema, Cams M&R Maschinenhandel, Tibatek, Husqvarna or Avant Tecno, and at the same time can build on the support of its long-standing exhibitor base. “After a long absence from the trade fair, we are looking forward to starting the trade fair year 2022 with RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE. As the company DMS Technologie GmbH, we are pleased to be able to present product novelties as well as new innovations to the trade audience in one-to-one discussions and to receive first-hand reactions. There is no substitute for the critical exchange with industry specialists on the product,” says Sebastian Gruber, Head of Sales at DMS Technologie GmbH. The Karlsruhe fair expects around 185 manufacturers and dealers of equipment for all stages of treatment, recycling and reprocessing of valuable materials such as construction waste, scrap and metal as well as waste wood. Likewise, it offers the entire spectrum of civil engineering machinery, especially sewer, road and path and compact construction.
New year – new demo formats
RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE is responding to the needs of trade fair visitors with no fewer than three new demo formats. In the new Attachment Arena, they can marvel at the versatility of the tool carrier in use for demolition, recycling or soil preparation work in three themed demonstrations per day in an action-packed show, and in the process find the perfect tool for more productivity in their own operations. In addition to construction machinery and construction vehicles, the focus will be on tools such as bucket separators, demolition hammers and add-on compactors. They impressively demonstrate their skills in realistic construction processes. The fulminant show setting is optimally rounded off in terms of content by specialist advisors who provide information on the features and areas of application of the attachment. The topics of foundation engineering and e-mobility are also in increasing demand. These will be given their own demonstration area through the new model construction sites for special civil engineering and electromobility in compact and landscaping construction. The model construction site for sewer construction and the action area for scrap & metal will remain successful formats.
Rollover into practice: trade fair duo picks up on
trend themes
“Our trade show concept aims to always have its finger on the pulse of the times. We want to show our visitors solutions and provide impetus for the challenge of an increasingly digitalized, automated and networked construction site. The topics of digitization and telematics will therefore be given special attention during the visitor tours, and suppliers who demonstrate practical solutions will be targeted,” explains project manager Olivia Hogenmüller. One such exhibitor is Zeppelin, which will be showcasing its high-tech Cat 340 UHD ultra-high demolition excavator. “Demolition and recycling companies on the road to digitalization need reliable machines and transparent processes more than ever. With our tools from the areas of telematics and condition monitoring, we deliver the ideal complement to our high-performance construction machines,” says Anke Hadwiger, Head of Trade Fairs, Events & Training at Zeppelin. Furthermore, the Founders’ Garage, which is being implemented together with COREUM as a start-up zone in the hall area, offers young companies an attractive platform for marketing their innovative solutions, sounding out potential partnerships or attracting the attention of investors and media representatives. Thus, this area also represents the core of the trade fair: a meeting place to grow networks and build business connections.
For the first time, the SBM Summit, expert congress for sustainable and ecological building materials, will take place parallel to RecyclingAKTIV & TiefbauLIVE on May 6. Due to thematic synergies, the expert meeting will accompany the trade fair as a one-day special program and will be dedicated to sustainable and ecological materials with its exclusive specialist lecture program.
