SWECO EUROPE S.A.
The new generation separator increases safety and improves clean-up and maintenance as it represents a global standard for the traditional round separator (Fig.). The totally enclosed weight guard prevents “reach-in” injuries and complies with European CE Standards. This MX design also complies with ATEX Standards by making use of the appropriate motor, conductive gaskets and anti-static spout connectors all applicable for the food industry as well.
The open base construction allows for cleaning underneath the unit, therefore the occurrence of dirt and product build-up. Additionally, the MX base design eliminates all gussets and external crevices where product can become trapped while allowing for total external polishing of the machine. These features allow for a more sanitary designed separator. The open construction scheme also allows for easier inspection and cleaning of the separator’s underside.
Angled support springs minimize aggressive vibration that typically occurs during shutdown of the machine. The extremely rugged construction of this machine utilizes conical construction rather than flat plates which creates a more rigid geometric structure. This concept has been successfully tested and proven through millions of high G life cycles. The choice for special noise abating metals and self cleaning screens with larger sliders have a positive influence on the noise levels of the separator. Noise reductions can be measured by as much as 16 dbA.
Monitoring the elastomeric materials used makes this new generation of round separators also compliant with the EC1935/2004 Food Contact Regulations and GMP Standards. At the demand of the food industry a lot of research has been done into magnetically reactive and FDA acceptable cleaning balls and sliders for direct food contact. In the case of screen breakage, specially woven magnetic screen cloth can be retrieved in the downstream process by magnets.
The new generation MX Round Separator is a safe, clean and strong equipment that can be used in chemical, food, pharmaceutical, mineral, paper, and many other industries.
