With the completion of the 5000th dump truck “made in Germany” at the beginning of October 2018, the dump truck plant of Bell Equipment in Eisenach reached the next milestone in its development. Company management and staff could see off a Bell B30E to its target market USA. At the facility in Eisenach-Kindel, opened in 2003, the articulated Bell dump trucks for exhaust-controlled markets of the northern hemisphere are assembled. The final mounting occurs on the basis of pre-assembled vehicle assemblies and technical components from European suppliers (Mercedes-Benz, Bosch, Rexroth, etc.). Designed to reach a flexibly controllable capacity of max. 900 vehicles/year, the production in Eisenach was subjected to strong fluctuations: besides initial peaks of nearly 650 vehicles (in 2005), the output decreased to a few dozen in the crisis year 2009. Finally, for 2018, about 500 units of all Bell 6x6 articulated dumpers are planned - and with approx. 550 vehicles in 2019, production shall be increased again by 10 % for the fourth year in a row.

With the new Bell B20E LGP, the smallest EU4/Tier4f dumper has been rolling off the assembly belt since October. The 18-ton-vehicle provides high transport capacities (11.0 m³, 170 kW) with low ground pressure, and is currently received with great interest among customers in Great Britain and Scandinavia. Further growth at these locations will also be driven by Bell Equipment’s own manufacturing capacities currently being established in Eisenach. With another 12 000 m², the new hall complex to be built by mid-2019 will triplicate today’s production area. Here, Bell will manufacture their own skip bodies – further assemblies (framework, chassis) shall follow in the medium term.
