Informative character strengthened

steinexpo site concept on
the home straight

At the end of March 2023, 268 exhibitors with a total of 395 represented brands have already registered for steinexpo 2023. The successful registration numbers and names of the last trade fair version in 2017 have almost been reached. Thus, all leading companies of the quarrying and processing industry will present their machines and services in August. The Geoplan GmbH event team even assumes that a record number of exhibitors could be announced for steinexpo 2023. There are only a few remaining spaces that will close the exhibitor circle in the coming months. In addition, the proportion of internationally participating companies has also increased noticeably.

Exciting changes will also be felt and experienced in other places. When the 11th steinexpo demonstration fair opens its doors on 23 August 2023, trade visitors can expect a much wider range of information than usual. This time, all those interested in the fair will be increasingly involved in the exciting everyday life of the fair. This includes not only the organisation of the fair itself, but also the preparations that have to be made in advance for such a unique opportunity to demonstrate the machines.

For example, from mid-August onwards, the set-up and, of course, the fair itself will be accompanied by a permanent video cam with live transmission. This will give interested parties and participants alike the chance to experience the trade fair events in advance and, of course, during the trade fair.

Stadium flair of the large calibres

In the live demo area on demo area A, as usual, professional and expertly moderated live joint demonstrations of various large construction machinery brands will take place. The “stadium atmosphere” – with an unobstructed view from spacious stands – allows spectators in the stands to experience the performance of the loading and transport equipment in real-life use. This year, these presentations and demonstrations will be perfected by a 45 m² LED wall on which the live impressions of the large machines will be shown and special details and features “at work” will be explained in a zoomed-in way.

Terrain conception on the home straight

There is also movement in other places. It is in the nature of an active quarry that it is subject to change due to the extraction of raw materials. By holding steinexpo in Europe’s largest basalt quarry, the organisers can therefore expect a changed site situation every time, which always leads to a new trade fair plan. Thus, there is generally more room for manoeuvre for demo area A this year. Most recently, this area was already used for the unique performance shows of the large-calibre construction machinery. This time there will also be the possibility of setting up a high-speed and/or mogul track for dumpers. A construction machinery parking area is also planned again. In addition, the static stand areas of the participating exhibitors are compactly placed on this area. So it remains to be seen with excitement how the new conditions will be used for the “choreographies of the giants”.

The area for accessories continues to be located in demo area B. Compared to 2017, it is now slightly narrower. And the rear area of the upper demo area C has also become slightly thinner. Nevertheless, there will still be enough space to admire the dimensions of the fair in 2023 during a ride on the elevator. This also shows itself again and again with a “wow effect” when entering the quarry to the entrance area. The latter will be located next year on the approx. 15 000 m² new demo area D (former backfill).

Another highlight awaits those arriving there. Because as the quarry changes, so do the innovations and perspectives that go with it. The motto “Quarry Vision” of steinexpo 2023 is therefore representative of the visions within the industry, which will be offered an appropriate stage: On an area of approx. 4000 m² – and thus almost twice as large as originally planned – renowned exhibitors will have the opportunity to present their future innovations, which are not yet necessarily ready for the market, in a way that is visible and tangible for all. On display will be highly intelligent machines, vehicles and services. Adjacent to the main entrance, the special “Quarry Vision” area will be hard to miss. Every arrival will be rewarded with the extraordinary Innovation Park.

In general, steinexpo 2023 will also look at how smaller exhibitors can be presented in a way that appeals to the public, even with large dimensions. The area for indoor exhibitors will also be focussed twice. For this purpose, the previous large pavilion will be divided into two parts – at two locations on two levels, one theme-focused exhibition pavilion each will be open to visitors.

There are also big stages online ...

The significantly expanded social media activity in the reporting this year initially gave the fair additional reach and relevance. The closer the fair gets, the more coverage will also be found online to keep up to date with the preparations: Through posts with current information, exhibitor info, live streaming and much more, steinexpo will be accompanied consistently and with high frequency online on the social media channels. Just as steinexpo is not like any other trade fair, the same can be said about the community. This has now been proven even more online. Because what emerged strongly in the process is the enthusiasm that connects many long-standing steinexpo-interested people and how much cohesion and solidarity is directly visible. In case of (technical) questions, help is given immediately, memories and even real works of art are shared, such as a miniature replica of steinexpo by a loyal trade fair visitor of many years (for photos see Social Media steinexpo). In addition to this exchange, the need for technical information will also be met.

The new steinexpo app, which provides all the latest information about the demo fair on mobile devices, also contributes to the significantly expanded information offer. Of course, this also includes site plans, exhibitor information, exhibited products and much more. The steinexpo app will be available from summer. Tickets, on the other hand, can already be purchased now.

All other current information on developments or an overview of exhibiting brands or companies can be found on the official website and via the steinexpo social media channels.
