Schüttflix on its way to becoming a market platform
The app, which was once developed for smaller landscapers and civil engineering companies, has now also won over major customers such as STRABAG. Because the problems of the industry are the same everywhere and the arguments are convincing, whether small or large:
1. Compare suppliers and prices quickly
Until now, anyone who wanted to order bulk materials needed time. It takes a long time to compare suppliers and their offers, especially in foreign regions. The Schüttflix app now delivers the supplier comparison in seconds.
2. Bulk goods when and where you need them
Incorrectly dumped deliveries cost time and nerves. To avoid this, Schüttflix customers can use photos and a marker in the satellite image to determine the exact unloading location for each order. They select the delivery time according to their wishes - if desired, Schüttflix delivers within four hours.
3. Reduce paperwork
Every transport involved various pieces of paper: Delivery bill, carbon copy, invoice, ... . Signing, collecting and sorting these took time with various parties. That’s why at Schüttflix all documents are digital.
4. Simple project overview
If you manage several construction projects at the same time, you had to find a sophisticated system to keep track of all orders, shipments and quotas. Schüttflix now provides the real-time overview in the app or on the computer.
This is how bulk material ordering works with Schüttflix
At the core of it all are now three order types: The bulk order, the forwarding order and the project order.
With the bulk material order, customers can order all bulk materials throughout Germany with just a few clicks. To do this, they simply specify where the construction project is and which material they need. The app calculates the five cheapest suppliers in the area. The order is placed with just a few clicks and the supplier is notified. Subsequently, all transports that belong to the order end up in the Schüttflix transport exchange. Here, the forwarders in the vicinity can pull the tours and process them via the app. The customer is always kept up to date and can even follow the delivery via live tracking.
If customers only want to order a material transport, for example, to have soil transported from a construction site to their own site, they can similarly simply place a freight forwarding order in the Schüttflix app.
For everything that exceeds ten saddles, there is the project business with fixed quotas that can be flexibly called up in the app. This also gives suppliers and freight forwarders a real-time project overview.
How it works for suppliers and freight forwarders
The platform focuses on the network, i.e. the suppliers and forwarders. The former can easily enter their materials and prices on the computer, while the forwarders can just as easily maintain their vehicles and drivers.
If a Schüttflix transport is in progress, the supplier sees the license plate number and how much of which material is to be loaded directly on his desktop or in the app. He receives the credit note the next day, all documents come as a pdf file. The same applies to the freight forwarder.
Soon also disposal via Schüttflix
The partner network is now to be expanded to include disposal facilities. For this purpose, the company has for the first time developed a digital recording process for operators of disposal facilities such as landfills and tipping points.
First digital waste catalog
On the platform, these can now upload their permits for waste management activities and then store locations, waste and prices. In doing so Schüttflix addressed all relevant industry specifications. Disposers can specify exactly what waste they can accept, with what load, and in what quantity on the and how much they can accept per day. In this way, they only receive requests that are relevant for them. They can set the prices individually for each load class. The Schüttflix waste catalog corresponds to the Waste Catalogue Ordinance.
The aim is to use the database to quickly and easily respond to disposal inquiries from customers throughout quickly and easily throughout Germany. Waste management companies can process inquiries much faster and with significantly less effort.
“The waste disposal market is highly complex. With our app, we are now also offering operators of waste disposal facilities and construction companies a simple, digital solution for waste disposal. Completely paperless and standardized processes save time and money and increase both quality and efficiency,” explains Frank Kramer, Head of Waste Management at Schüttflix.
The Schüttflix vision
As already described in detail, the digitalization of processes and the networking of market participants helps to work much more efficiently. But in the long run, the potential goes even beyond that:
1. Avoid empty runs
Freight forwarders already use Schüttflix to find suitable return trips and customers to find the closest supplier to their construction project. In the future, deliveries to the construction site and the removal of mineral waste will also be synchronized to save even more empty runs and unnecessary transport kilometers.
2. Optimizing recycling management
In the future, it should be possible to bring offers and demands together at an early stage in order to avoid intermediate storage.
3. Protect forests
At least two pieces of paper are generated per transport, which can be avoided with digital delivery bills and invoices. The startup is working to make these digital documents the standard.
