A new era of innovation
Back in 1991, Gerald Hanisch discovered the market potential of recycling building materials and founded RUBBLE MASTER with the vision of taking a leading role in the niche of mobile crushers and screens. The breakthrough came in 2000. Today, the RM Group is the world market leader in mobile compact class construction materials recycling, thanks in part to its innovative solutions. Its technological expertise is the driving force behind its success on both the European and global markets. The export rate of 96 % in 2023 shows that RUBBLE MASTER is a sought-after partner in many countries around the world for the development of a functioning recycling industry. But the natural stone sector also offers enormous opportunities. RUBBLE MASTER sees great potential for the new jaw crusher in the markets of South East Asia, Australia and, above all, North and South America, which are considered important sales markets.
Gerald Hanisch, founder, owner and face of the RM Group, emphasises the importance of this new product: “It’s like David against Goliath. With the jaw crusher, we are venturing into completely new territory, but we are convinced of this step. Because we have the backing of long-standing customers, whose high demand provided the impetus for the development of this machine. Our customers value our service, our philosophy and want machine solutions from a single source, from the primary crusher to the secondary screening plant. With the RM J110X, we are not only entering a new business segment, but also demonstrating once again our ability to drive innovation.”
Global expansion and investment in the future
The RM Group closed 2022 with total sales of around € 232 million and double-digit growth. The order books for 2023 were also well filled, with the markets in North and South America performing particularly well. Despite the positive mood, however, customers have recently been reluctant to make new investments. Gerald Hanisch cites the following reasons: “The current interest rate situation, the tense economic situation in Europe and the substitute building materials ordinance that has been in force in Germany since 1 August 2023 have slowed down the willingness to invest. Our turnover remained stable in the 2023 financial year.”
Despite these challenges, company founder Gerald Hanisch is positive about the future: “We export to 110 countries worldwide, continue to drive forward our global expansion strategy and are thus setting the course for a successful future. In 2023, we opened our own branch for the Southeast Asian market in Singapore, we are investing in additional production lines and are currently building a new local company headquarters for the North American market in Texas. There, we are bringing together all areas from the service and sales team to spare parts management at one location, which will also be used for training and the RM Academy. The move is planned for the second half of the year. Investments like these are testimony to our long-term strategy.” The construction of a new production hall at the headquarters in Linz, which began in October last year, is also being finalised.
When it comes to sustainability, RUBBLE MASTER also wants to be a role model itself: “In the next few years, we want to be energy self-sufficient at the Linz site,” confirms Hanisch. Existing concepts such as thermally active building elements, which are used as heating, as well as low-energy and passive construction methods are being expanded. RM will also produce electricity in Linz in the future using a photovoltaic system. This was installed and put into operation in 2023. Additional energy buffers will feed back the energy that is released during the commissioning of systems and reuse it on site.
Technological milestone: The RM J110X
With its outstanding performance and efficiency, the RM J110X is the optimal solution for crushing natural rock and recycling materials. The material produced by the jaw crusher can be used as an end product for some applications or as feed material for the secondary crushing stage for further crushing. The jaw crusher is very versatile and can be used for almost all types of rock, regardless of how hard or abrasive the material is. The jaw crusher can also be used in recycling applications, where it is the more robust and reliable alternative for very high reinforcement content.
With the new mobile jaw crusher, RUBBLE MASTER is expanding its product range and now offers complete crushing and screening plant solutions for all requirements. The RM J110X impresses with its robustness and reliability, sets new standards in terms of modularity and offers an exceptional throughput-to-weight ratio. In order to meet the different requirements of users, various equipment options are available that enable precise customisation of the machine. With the choice between a hydraulic drive and a hybrid drive for maximum fuel savings, the RM J110X offers flexibility in the power supply and can even be connected directly to the mains, making it a pioneering solution in its segment.
