The Second AusIMM International Geometallurgy Conference

The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) announces The Second AusIMM International Geometallurgy Conference (GeoMet 2013) to be held in Brisbane, Australia on September 30 to October 2, 2013. GeoMet 2013 aims to develop the understanding of orebody variability and risk through the modelling of a variety of lithological, metallurgical, mineralogical and grade data obtained from spatially distributed samples. One key aspect of any effective geometallurgical program is a multi-disciplinary team that brings together exploration and mining geologists; mining and geotechnical engineers; metallurgists mineral process engineers; mineral economists; and risk specialists.

This 3 day program includes 1 plenary session, 6 keynote speakers and 36 standard presentations as well as various workshops. Topics include ore characterisation and testing; orebody and variable modelling; geometallurgical program design and application; mine planning; and case studies (Fig.). In addition to this exciting technical program featuring top industry professionals, this event offers valuable networking opportunities, an industry trade exhibition, workshops and one day research facilities trip.
