Symposium on circular economy

From September 18 – 19, 2018 a symposium entitled “Circular Driven Economy” will be held by the AF Groups, SINTEF, CDE and SHEEHAN in the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel in Heathrow.

The EU Commission is delivering ambitious measures to cut resource use, reduce waste and boost recycling and moving towards a Circular Economy model. In this inaugural Circular Driven Economy symposium, the organizer welcome a panel of industry experts who will discuss a wide range of topics on the opportunities that exist in recycling and re-using construction and demolition waste materials.

On Day 2 of the Symposium, attendees will get the opportunity to see the Circular Economy in action with a site visit to Oxford, where the participants will see how the Sheehan Group use the latest wet processing technology to re-use waste material from construction and demolition. The company has transformed its business model and now creates a range of certified sand and aggregates materials which are used in concrete products for the construction industry. In 2017 the company celebrated a milestone of diverting over 500 000 tonnes of waste from UK landfill sites thanks to the introduction of their C&D waste recycling plant.
