Radius of action extended with new product group
For much more than 20 years, August Bock & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG from Hünfeld near Fulda has relied on impact crushers from SBM – formerly MFL. Now, quarry manager Julian Busold commissioned a new generation of the premium impact crushers with an SBM Remax 300. A perfect complement is brought by the tracked mobile stockpile conveyor type Moerschen MFB 20/90K.
The family-run medium-sized company is active in several areas of processing. At the Hünfeld-Roßbach site, the Bock company operates a quarry on shell limestone with an attached building rubble reception. Especially for the processing of the recycling material, the company has acquired a fleet of mobile machines and has been relying on equipment from MFL since 1998. Quarry manager Julian Busold reports: “We have two mobile impact crushers in operation and could always rely on them for all activities. Maximum versatility was required. Demolition work on construction sites is just as much a daily occurrence as crushing here at the site.”
Application profile oriented to market requirements
The track-mounted SBM Remax 300 impact crusher combines reliable crushing technology with state-of-the-art application features to form a compact unit in the premium segment. This starts with the operation: The company August Bock & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG is currently focusing on processing at the Roßbach quarry site. In the current situation, the company needs sufficient available space for the delivery and removal of both processed recycled crushed stone and our shell lime primary products. On average, approx. 2000 t of bulk materials leave the plant, plus the trucks for delivery.
The Remax 300 can be moved quickly and precisely via radio remote control. However, the system technology must of course be measured above all against the end product, as Julian Busold knows: “We need a material that is ready for sale without any necessary reworking – and that with constantly increasing demands from our customers. Foreign substances in the recycled material are no longer tolerated today.” Moerschen Mobile Processing has offered the SBM impact crusher with an option package that turns the crushing plant into a complete “processing factory” precisely for this purpose, knows Moerschen sales specialist Johannes Ett. The attached single-deck screen box, including magnetic separator in the discharge and air classifier in the oversize particle separation, is a guarantee for high-quality end products of crushed stone, chippings and the like.
New opportunities created with new product group
Innovation and sustainability is the new guiding principle of Managing Director Andreas Bock and Quarry Manager Julian Busold. In the past, the crushed material always had to be moved by wheel loader. “We definitely had to optimize this work step, and in cooperation with salesman Johannes Ett we found a sustainable solution,” explains Julian Busold. With the track-mounted MFB 20-90K stockpile conveyor from Moerschen Mobile Aufbereitung’s own production, the ideal alternative to moving with the wheel loader was found.
The process chain of the preparation was sustainably improved with the combination of the two plants through the investments. First of all, the range for extended discharge of the SBM Remax 300 was significantly extended via the MFB 20-90K stockpile conveyor. Moreover, the stockpiling to a height of more than 8 m is possible without wheel loader tying. Thanks to the continuous load-dependent control of material flow and feed quantity of the SBM impact crusher, the wheel loader operator no longer has to dismount and can concentrate throughout on feeding the vibratory feeder.
With the SBM Remax 300, August Bock & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG has a plant that scores above all with high degrees of comminution and consistent product granulation. But the impact crusher can do more, and that was another reason for the Hünfelde-based company’s decision to buy: “We are keeping open the option of also using the mobile SBM crusher in the production of our quarry products and here quickly and easily expanding the existing possibilities of our stationary processing – for example, by producing certain grain sizes on demand,” Julian Busold is pleased to say.
For applications that do not require return of oversize material to the crushing chamber or for stockpiling, the complete screening and return system can be separated from the plant in a very short time. Then the Remax 300 remains under 30 t of base mass and can be transported without a special permit. This allows the construction company August Bock & Sohn GmbH & Co. KG to continue using this plant on construction sites. As an alternative to diesel-electric operation, the Remax 300 can also be operated purely electrically, which is a major advantage for construction site use.
In addition to the qualities of the technology, Julian Busold also appreciates the service and mentions the contact with the responsible sales specialist at Moerschen Mobile Aufbereitung, Johannes Ett: “We were happy to take advantage of the offer from Moerschen Mobile Aufbereitung to initially test the plant combination in the rental park. After the test during the rental period, we were happy to opt for the purchase option.
