Pumpe 4.0

Which trends are dominating the process industry? Apart from the perennial issues of Energy and Raw Material Efficiency, the prevalent topics are mainly “Modular Plant Construction” and, of course, “Digitalization”. These innovations have also changed the world of industrial pumps - now, pump 4.0 is available. In the first instance, however, even cyber-physical pumps must reliably convey any medium from A to B, as Grundfos emphasizes. To this end, Grundfos has developed the iSolutions concept: pump hydraulic, drive technology, sensors, MSR-technology as well as the specific software complement each other. With radio technology or Ethernet bus, the pump systems have achieved Industry 4.0 readiness. In this way, smart pumps can carry out specific functionalities and optionally monitor other process parameters via additional open interfaces.

Both smart apps and cloud platforms offer attractive add-ons. With the Grundfos Go app, for example, the Service has a wide range of possibilities to parameterize or read out the proprietary MGE motor. Go offers access to all operating data, parameters and messages of the pump. Settings can be comfortably made via graphical display, by “Cloning” and for entire pump groups. The digital transformation provides practical advantages for the operator. Digitalization projects comprise e.g. solutions for error detection and the avoidance of failures. In this regard, Grundfos will exhibit solutions with different focus areas according to the target group at the Achema. Basis for all digital Grundfos offerings is a cloud platform with functions such as data storage, data export, alarm management, alarm forwarding, access management, document management and data analyzer.
