Mobile building waste recycling in Beijing
Bureaucracy not only prevails in Europe, China too imposes strict regulations, especially where the Chinese capital is concerned. For the first time in China’s history, a recycling project with an impact crusher has been realized at the heart of Beijing. The company Beijing Yu Long Environment Protection with the Rockster R700S was the contractor, and with this project it has heralded in a new era in building waste recycling.
A road had to be renewed at the centre of Beijing. The responsible Beijing City Road & Bridge Construction Group awarded the contract to the company Beijing Yu Long Environment Protection with the Rockster R700S impact crusher on account of the company’s wide experience in environmentally aware processing of asphalt and building rubble as well as the cleverly devised Austrian technology. As a result, it was possible to crush the asphalt and concrete on site and to reuse the processed material immediately for road construction (Fig. 1).
Mr Huang, Manager of Beijing Yu Long Environment Protection, says: “The material crushed by the R700S has excellent quality, the cubic grain can be optimally used for road construction or for any other construction materials.” He is proud of his first inner-city recycling project, during which a formidable 5500 t feed material was processed (Fig. 2). As a result of the immediate reuse of the crushed material for the construction of the new road, high transport costs and the associated emissions can be avoided.
Rockster’s R700S impressed with steady output of more than 100 t/h to 0/32 mm and low fuel consumption. The machine especially impressed with the additionally installed dust protection on the main conveyor, which was specially installed by Rockster for such conditions. During the entire recycling process, hardly any flue gas or dust emissions were generated. The volume of construction waste in Beijing is estimated at around 40 mill. t (Fig. 3), of which 90 % can be recycled with crushers like the Rockster impact crusher and reused. Figures that speak for themselves.
