Rockster R700S – compact but as strong as the big guys
The latest development from Kormann Rockster Recycler GmbH combines the optimum dimensions of compact crushers with technical finesses usually only found in larger crushers. The new crusher also triumphs with its unique capacity. To meet the growing demand for a compact crusher with low weight, perfect transport dimensions and, despite all that, an above-average high capacity, the Rockster team engineered the R700S impact crusher (Fig. 1). With its compact design – length 9 m, width 2.4 m and height 3 m – and low weight of 19.9 tonnes, the Rockster R700S is easy to transport and can be taken from one site to the next in a very short time (Fig. 2). At the working site, the fully mobile crusher is very flexible and therefore perfectly suited to applications in restricted space, e.g. in inner-city areas. In addition, the Rockster R700S is equipped with a hydrostatic drive to enable infinite adjustment of the crusher speed and consequently optimal adaption in order to obtain final particle size. Compared to conventional clutch systems, the hydrostatic drive does not suffer any wear. The optionally available Rockster screening system – consisting of the RS73 screen box and the RB65 return belt – make the R700S a complete package for the production of high-quality crushed particles in one workflow and in very confined spaces (Fig. 3). Like Rockster’s entire range of crushers, the R700S has large openings, allowing optimal access for all service and maintenance work as well as optimal ventilation of the motor unit and the cooling system.
With a feed opening measuring 710 x 650 mm, the newly reworked R70 impact crusher achieves throughput rates up to 140 t/h. It has undergone several technical improvements, such as strengthening of the rotor and the mirrored wear plates that can be frequently interchanged, therefore enabling a reduction in wear costs. The impact rockers are now adjusted with a threaded spindle instead of the usual spacers, making possible the infinite adjustment of the crusher gap.
