Excellent conditions now and in the future
A Saturday is no obstacle for celebrating an important company event, so in future the 1st of July will be the day to be remembered as the official inauguration of the new ISENMANN manufacturing plant in Karlsruhe, where almost 550 guests witnessed the opening of the new site.
The demand for high-quality screening media, including wear protection equipment and accessories from the quality manufacturer ISENMANN Siebe GmbH in Karlsruhe, is not only stable, but has also been characterized by constant growth for years. As a result, production capacities repeatedly hit their limits, which even multi-layered production cycles were not able to buffer. A fundamental solution was required. Therefore, ISENMANN, a 100 % subsidiary of the Hein, Lehmann GmbH, along with the mother company and screening machine experts from Krefeld, decided in favor of a well-considered investment at the traditional location of Karlsruhe. Together, they contemplated a comprehensive improvement of the possibilities including an expansion of the manufacturing and administration area to be better prepared for the future.
The intention of this measure was to create cutting-edge production conditions on an existing industrial estate of 24 000 m² at the Storrenacker. Apart from the planned increase in capacity, it should promote the continuous increase in quality and ensure more efficient production based on current findings. Parallel to this, the administrative units should also be able to profit from modern working environments. Good news first: all these ideas have meanwhile been perfectly realized and celebrated on the occasion of the official launch.
Only the timeline of planning, approval and implementation proved to be more complicated than presumed, and with an approval time of two years und a construction time of three and a half years, the realization of the project took much longer than expected. As it was no new construction, but basically a reconstruction of an existing commercial property, and moreover, without taking out a loan, the period of time a solvent investor needs to realize his investment in Germany is quite astonishing. Under the aegis and with the stamina of the Hein, Lehmann-Gruppe, the 17-million € project got finally going.
Looking back, Harald M. Koch, CEO of the Hein, Lehmann-Gruppe and managing director of the ISENMANN Siebe GmbH, gave a humorous insight into what had followed with the authorities after the investment decision was taken and the application submitted. In front of the entire shareholder family – meanwhile represented by three generations –, employees and numerous guests from the professional circles of processing technology, he started with an emotional praise: “Seeing the new administration and the cutting-edge production facilities today, makes my heart beat faster”. Afterwards, he hinted at the difficulties they had to overcome before the significant investment volume for the reconstruction led to the exemplary result of “ISENMANN-Neu”.
Now, with the official launch, these difficulties are not forgotten, but dwarfed by the convincing result. New state-of-the-art capabilities for production and administration have been created. The ISENMANN management, Matthias Sattler and Jürgen Schwarz, left nothing to chance. According to their specifications, profound situation analyses and target scenarios, the current production flows have been developed in the new facility in cooperation with the KIT Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and implemented in the plant. With regard to the overall concept, the future of the mere ISENMANN production was taken into consideration just as was the platform strategy of the group companies. Based on this approach, a production merger of Ludwig Krieger GmbH, another group member of the Hein-Lehmann-Verbund, was realized in October 2017 at the new location.
