Investment for the future

The Terex Corporation, CT/USA, will invest the largest amount at the location Germany since the takeover of the former Schaeff works (now: Terex Compact). The local management team considers this investment a clear commitment to the production site in Southern Germany. Within the next few months all products of the business line Terex-Schaeff will be united in the Crailsheim works, and the production lines and processes will be adapted to the requirements as regards quality and efficiency. This will involve the relocation to Crailsham of the production unit for mini- and midiexcavators as well as tunnel excavators and also the entire development office. So far they are still based at Rothenburg/Tauber and Langenburg. There is already an extended concept for the future use of the location Rothenburg/Tauber where the business line Terex spare parts will remain. In the course of the year further sections of the European spare parts business will be consolidated here. Terex will continue manufacturing cylinders in Langenburg. In addition, some sectors of the central administration will remain there for the time being.
