Downtime usually causes substantial economic loss. Reducing the factors responsible for this is the primary aim of any producing company – including mineral processing. Wear-related losses of production and the resulting costs can be reduced to a considerable extent in some cases through the selection of suitable materials for the different components of a plant. Downtime is also an issue when it comes to conveying dusty, abrasive, corrosive or wet materials. Motorized pulleys are ever more frequently being used for these purposes, since their design principles make them more robust and more durable.
