Digitalisation as a chance
Digitalisation offers many advantages for companies – and especially now, at a time when the scope for actions was and still is sometimes severely limited due to COVID 19, the potential for digitalisation measures is impressively evident.
Operating and production processes can be made more simple and more efficient thanks to faster and more targeted data transfer. However, also service and maintenance of systems or commissioning can be carried out without any problems thanks to digitalisation, despite the travel and associated contact restrictions. An impressive example of this is the remote commissioning of a packaging line at a BEUMER Group customer in Azerbaijan. In the technical article “Digital over the shoulder” from p. 52, you can find out more about the necessary framework conditions and the realisation of this exciting project.
Continental is also relying on artificial intelligence. The newly developed sensor-supported inspection service enables demand-driven service intervals on the basis of data-assisted remote monitoring of conveyor systems, see article in the Focus Industry section from p. 35. An article by Praxis EDV using the example of production, sales and loading of building materials from p. 41 shows how much potential for optimisation and the associated minimisation of costs can go hand in hand with the digitalisation of corporate processes.
Can you also report on an increase in efficiency as part of digitalisation measures in your company? Then please contact us to realise a publication on your application example.
Modernisation measures and the optimisation of operational and production processes are further topics that we inform you about in this issue of AT MINERAL PROCESSING.
Wishing you lots of interesting insights and enjoyable reading
