Combined mobile crushing and screening plant

The new Lokotrack LT220D from Metso is a fully mobile combined plant, which is equipped with an efficient gyratory crusher and an effective triple-deck screen. In addition to the space-saving installation of both units, the manufacturer offers a clearly increased productivity to the operator. Furthermore, the fuel consumption is reduced and lower installation times are required.

The Lokotrack LT220D is well prepared for the tasks of secondary processing. Optionally equipped with a gyratory crusher, type Nordberg GP220 or HP200, both units, i.e. the crushing and screening plant, are driven by only one diesel engine, type CAT C13 (Fig. 1). With this direct drive of the crusher, the company points the way ahead for an improved energy balance.

If the Lokotrack LT220D is combined with a primary crushing plant, type Lokotrack LT106, three screening fractions can be discharged simultaneously with two plants only. The entire process is controlled by the intelligent Metso IC Control System. During a comparison of one year, the manufacturer forecasts interesting consumption data as opposed to a classic three-stage processing plant. Based on this forecast, the LT220D is expected to consume 45 000 l less fuel, to require needs 100 hours less repair and maintenance time and to achieve 300 more production hours. In addition, Metso indicates a saving of about 1000 km of transportation of the compact plant within the annual comparison as opposed to classic individual components.

The weight of the entire plants is well below 50 t and can be transported on most of the roads and motorways due to the collapsible on-board lateral discharge belts, and, primarily, due to the compact dimensions (Fig. 2). At the place of installation, the plant is ready to operate within only a few minutes, due to the integrated hydraulic function.
