Caterpillar und Zeppelin

Caterpillar und Zeppelin

A‌t bauma 2019, Caterpillar and Zeppelin are going to provide new impulses for innovative construction machine technologies. Around 64 exhibits in all size categories reflect the progress made in applications for construction machinery in earthworks, civil engineering and road construction, gardening and landscaping, demolition and recycling as well as in the extraction of raw materials – including 20 new launches alone – more than ever before at a bauma.

However, innovations are not only reflected by their constructional layout and advanced technologies, which provide, for example, reduced fuel consumption, but also by their design. In future, Caterpillar will add a new logo to its construction equipment. Although already announced in 2018, it was only realized on the occasion of the bauma, where it will be first shown on the new diesel-electric crawler Cat Caterpillar D6 XW XE. At bauma, the machine shows the legendary Cat symbol in the shape of a yellow triangle. The logo has been redesigned to now combining the logo and the model type along with a three-dimensional red hexagon, which again includes a hexagonal grid pattern. By 2020, the entire product line shall be adapted to the new design.

Since the bauma has always been perceived as an exhibition of the giants, which also wants to address customers of the mining industry, compact machines are offered as an antipole to large-scale equipment, which traditionally attracts visitors due to its dimensions. The machinery used for open-pit mining of raw materials includes a completely redesigned Cat Dumper 730. Even though it weighs 22 % less than its predecessor 730C, this does not mean any sacrifice in performance. The heavyweights are the Cat chain excavator 390F and the wheel loader 992K, which will attract attention in a loading cycle with a new Cat dump truck 777G. With a length of 10 m and a height of 5 m, one of the most powerful track-type tractors worldwide, the D11 will fascinate all visitors of the exhibition stand. Since Caterpillar is considered a full-service provider in the field of mining, also a new underground mining wheel loader R 1700 will be presented. Usually, the general public never sets eyes on it - for that reason alone it will be a center of attraction. It only requires a maximum height of 2.50 m.
