Association activities covering the topic ‚bulk solids’
The German Association of Bulk Solids (DSIV) held its annual general meeting (Fig.) within the framework of the Bulk Solids Fair 2014. Stefan Penno, the CEO of the DSIV, took the opportunity to sum up the activities of the association during the last 12 months. The range of events included technical topics, such as material handling, explosion protection and hygienic design, up to an event dealing with the topic of foreign trade focussing on Russia. Together with the Kaisers-lauternTechnical University, the DSIV organized a fair visit for interested students during its Bulk Solids Fair. The association sponsored the journey and offered a special program for the students within the framework of the fair.
The association is also planning various activities for its members for the second half of 2014 and for next year. For example, an event dealing with port logistics will be offered in Northern Germany as well as a plant tour through a feed facility in Southern Germany. Furthermore, a visit to the company Endress + Hauser has been planned dealing with the topic of measurement technology for bulk solids. It is also planned to expand the cooperation with colleges of advanced technology within the next few months where the topic ‘bulk solids’ plays an important role. The members present were very satisfied as regards the association activities. The board expects that the membership of the association will clearly increase in the year to come.
