Flying high

The Tirol-based company Gebrüder Reindl OHG has trusted the technical know-how of SBM Mineral Processing with regard to mobile crushing plants for years now. In the meantime, this company is operating its seventh SBM plant, a Remax 1100 Cone (Fig.). Besides “normal” duties, the crawler-mounted Remax 1100 Cone crusher operates at an altitude of 3000 m on the Tiefenbach glacier in Tirol. There it crushes hard rock, the feed size ranges between 2 and 170 mm and, depending on the material, the production rate reaches 250 t/h.

The oil cooler of the crawler-mounted mobile crusher was designed by SBM so that it can travel large distances uphill. To achieve a steady rate, the 10 m³ bin is sized accordingly. In addition, it is equipped with a hydraulic dumping grate, which can be operated by means of a remote control. The basic frame of the machine is extremely stable, guaranteeing quiet running and trouble-free transport. The Remax 1100 is powered by a diesel generator set, which leads to a much lower fuel consumption than with other drive solutions. Other advantages include the low-end torque for a long lifetime and the possibility of infinite torque adjustment. Moreover a switch from diesel to mains operation is possible. Another trump card of the crawler-mounted mobile SBM crusher is its wide flexibility. For example, an already existing SBM screen unit at Reindl can be connected to the new Remax if required. The new screen unit is controlled from the new Remax. With this solution, it is possible to respond flexibly and quickly to different requirements.
