Powder & Bulk Solids India 2016: Process technology for India's growth sectors
From 13 to 15 October 2016, experts from all industry sectors with a need for processing and bulk solids technology will gather at Powder & Bulk Solids India (PBSI) in Mumbai. Around 80 exhibitors, including many international market leaders, will showcase their latest solutions for handling, processing and analysing powders and bulk solids across different industry verticals such as food, pharmaceutical, chemical, mining, ports and many more.
Exhibiting companies include international market leaders as well as India's key players in the field of process technology. Companies like Hosokawa Micron, Glatt, Bectochem Consultants & Engineers, Allgaier GmbH, DMNWestinghouse, Netzsch, Chemtrol Industries, MBA Instruments, Rembe, IND EX, Sympatec, Grecon, UWT, Gefa, Food Processing Technologies, HAVER IBAU, Rieco and many more will use the PBSI platform to present their latest technologies to a highly motivated professional audience from all parts of the Indian sub-continent and all over the world.
"This sixth round of PBSI offers exhibitors and visitors high quality presentations, technical workshop sessions, solution oriented developments, networking opportunities and knowledge acquisition" explains Priya Sharma, Project Manager, Powder and Bulk Solids India. "We are very pleased to welcome the bulk handling and process engineering community to Mumbai in October."
Explosion protection and DEM simulation
On all three days of the event, the accompanying conference offers a varied programme of lectures on R&D and applications as well as practical workshops. The main theme of the conference is “Achieving High Performance for Powder And Bulk Solids in Resonance With Nature”.
Practical knowhow on the process industry's "hot" topics is provided e.g. by the workshops on explosion protection and the DEM (Discrete Element Method) simulation of bulk solids processing. "Powder & Bulk Solids India 2016, has again been compiled with special focus on the current needs of the industries – and to meet the varying requirements of the plastics, pharma, food and chemical industry on the one hand, and heavy bulk handling industries, such as mining, cement, and dry bulk cargo, on the other hand.
“High quality technical workshops will be presented by renowned experts in the field. These will provide in-depth subject knowledge to the participants”, says B. V. Sambashivan, Chair of the Conference Board of PBSI 2016. "Participants have the opportunity to get to know new technologies that are more efficient and less expensive and then go on to implement them in their own segments and companies."
Good economic outlook
This sixth round of the trade fair is taking place in a favourable economic environment in India in many of the industrial sectors that use process and bulk solids technologies. A survey conducted by BDB India for Powder & Bulk Solids India raises the prospect of good growth opportunities for the chemical, pharmaceutical, food and energy segments in particular. In the next five years, the market survey anticipates up to 12 % additional growth in pharmaceuticals, as India already has a major share of the market for producing generic products and intermediaries for the pharmaceutical industry. For the foodstuffs industry a growth in turnover of 11 % is forecast by 2018. With the trend towards renewable energies, new investments can also be predicted in the energy sector in the coming years.
