Scottish articulated hauler manufacturer Rokbak will join West African equipment dealer HMD and its subsidiary Equipment Hub Ltd at Mining Indaba 2025, a premier event in the African mining industry.

Held from February 3 to 6 in Cape Town/South Africa, Mining Indaba provides the perfect platform to showcase the capabilities of Rokbak articulated dump trucks (ADT) to an international audience. Mining Indaba 2025 serves as an important milestone for Rokbak and HMD since partnering in 2024. The event helps mark their continued focus on delivering robust, reliable and high-performance articulated haulers for the mining sector in Africa.

Rokbak offers two ADT models. The RA40 is the largest with a gross power of 331 kW (444 hp), a maximum torque of 2,225 Nm and a 38 tonne (41.9 US ton) payload. It is a popular choice for major infrastructure and mining projects, with its effective power to weight ratio enabling the fast movement of heavy materials. Like the RA40, the 28 tonne (30.9 US ton) RA30, with a gross power of 276 kW (370 hp) and a maximum torque of 1880 Nm, benefits from a transmission retardation system, a fully adaptable drivetrain and easy maintenance to suit a variety of different job sites.

Across Africa

HMD and Rokbak aim to expand their footprint across Africa, particularly in West African nations such as Nigeria, Ghana, Mali, Liberia, Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire. This involves engaging with contractors and project leaders to explore tailored solutions and strengthen relationships.

Establishing itself as one of the five biggest equipment providers in West Africa, HMD has an infrastructure that provides essential support and training, ensuring optimal use of Rokbak trucks in an important market. Between 2023 and 2024, there was a 46% rise in the quantity of imported ADTs in West Africa. Based on historical data since 2019, the expected growth of the number of articulated haulers in the region for 2025 is approximately 7.14%.
