MB Crusher crusher buckets make it easier to recycle demolition material

In Abruzzo, a region in central Italy, the company Sismex uses a BF120.4 MB Crusher bucket for on-site crushing and the production of a new material, an eco-concrete.

Eco-concrete, a successful experiment

Sismex SRL began its journey as an earthmoving company and has since diversified its services, including supplying roll-off dumpsters to construction sites where companies can segregate waste and rubble for collection and transportation to their plants.

On-site, they also utilize a BF120.4 MB jaw crusher, mounted on their Caterpillar excavator. “We initially used the crusher bucket to crush the debris from demolition jobs for reuse in road foundations,” said the company owner. “Then, we discovered it could also produce a recycled material suitable for non-load-bearing concrete production.” Practically, they mix the material produced by the BF120.4 with cement to create blocks of eco-concrete. Dubbed "eco" because it comprises only of recycled materials processed with the jaw crusher bucket. This innovative approach maintains characteristics and performance comparable to traditional natural materials.

These eco-concrete blocks represent an innovation in the construction industry by offering a sustainable method to create solid structures using recycled materials. MB Crusher's jaw crusher bucket was indispensable for this process, transforming demolition materials into new recycled material and contributing to waste reduction and resource conservation.

From the production of eco-concrete to the recycling of reinforced concrete

Sin City played host to the World of Concrete, where MB Crusher's screener and jaw crusher buckets took center stage in reclaiming concrete in January. To address the question: why use recycled concrete? The answer is simple. It is highly versatile, reduces the environmental impact associated with old concrete disposal, and requires less energy for production.

With MB Crusher equipment, the process becomes easier. A single operator and an MB Crusher jaw crusher are all that's needed to obtain high-quality material, which can also be screened on site with the MB screening bucket, for reuse in road substrates, base material, foundations, and various other applications.

Reinforcement poses no challenge

With MB Crusher Reinforced concrete is not a problem. Disposal costs and times often skyrocket with reinforced materials. The main issue is the iron, which can damage conveyor belts and cause machine downtime.

However, with the MB Crusher bucket, the iron is separated naturally along with the crushed material. Paring the crusher bucket with an iron separator magnet enables the operator to pull the ferreous material from the pile while staying in the cabin.
