Groundbreaking ceremony for Flottweg's new Process Center

On June 13, the official ground-breaking ceremony marked the start of Flottweg's latest construction project: the Process Center represents a further strengthening of the Vilsbiburg site with an investment of around € 15 million. On around 2000 m², the technology center with laboratory, testing, office and storage areas will offer the possibility of designing customer-specific solutions in an even more targeted manner in the future. This will enable the separation technology specialist to meet growing customer requirements and support the development of new innovations and technologies. Flottweg's supervisory board and board members Dr. Kersten Link and Klaus Huber were joined by Vilsbiburg's mayor Sibylle Entwistle and district administrator Peter Dreier for the ground-breaking ceremony.

Process Center as an extension to Plant 2

With the construction of the new Process Center, Flottweg is expanding Plant 2, which was opened in Vilsbiburg in 2021, thus enabling the separation technology specialist's steady growth. The Process Center will house the laboratory, a technical center as a test area, a warehouse and modern office space. The aim of the new test center is to further advance the development and testing of new separation processes and to offer customers worldwide even more efficient and environmentally friendly process solutions. This makes it a central element of the machine and plant manufacturer's long-term growth strategy. As a hotbed of innovation, the Process Center will intensify cooperation with customers in future, while at the same time enabling the testing and optimization of new processes and procedures. The outdoor area also provides space for the mobile test facilities, which are used for on-site trials at the customer's premises. The Process Center is scheduled to open at the end of 2025.

An important step for the future of the company, says Dr. Kersten Link, Chairman of the Management Board: "With the construction of the Process Center, we are not only strengthening the location in Vilsbiburg, but also creating the basis for sustainable and innovative growth. Flottweg has grown steadily in recent years, so the new Process Center is an investment in the future of the company. It is also a signal to our customers and business partners that Flottweg will continue to provide the best solutions for demanding cutting tasks in the future."

Mayor is impressed

But the new Process Center is not only a decisive step in the history of the separation technology specialist for the Flottweg Management Board, Vilsbiburg's mayor Sibylle Entwistle is also delighted with the investment: "Dates like today are the best for me as mayor. With this investment, Flottweg is showing that they are thinking about the future and will not let turbulent times get them down. It's not just the Flottweg logo that you see glowing blue in the evening when you drive to Vilsbiburg, but this luminosity is symbolic of the entire company."
