As from 1st June, 2018, Gery Bell handed over the managing directorship of the South African construction machinery manufacturer, Bell Equipment, to Leon Goosen. As a financial expert who had already been working for the company headquartered in Richards Bay since 2007, Goosen went through several positions in the Bell management – from 2014, he has been responsible for the operative business of the international articulated hauler truck specialist in his role as COO. During this period, the global activities were sustainably strengthened due to the expansion of the European production and logistics locations in Germany, and they will be further driven by the announced development of a North-American logistics center.

After more than 34 years as Chief Executive Officer, Gary Bell will take over the chair of the Bell Group Board, in which Ashley Bell already represents the next generation of the family company founded by Irvine Bell in the 1950s. This secures continuity regarding the orientation of the listed company, which is still majority-owned by the founding family.
