Gearboxes in heavy-machine building and plant construction
Seminar “Heavy and special gearboxes”, Haus der Technik, Essen/Germany (15.-16.11.2010)
In the seminar “Heavy and special gearboxes” Prof. Dr.-Ing. Berthold Schlecht from the Institute for Machine Elements and Machinery Design of Dresden Technical University will lecture on the basic design of heavy gearboxes (Fig.) and the resulting demands on the main drive train. The possibilities of stress-related dimensioning of toothings, shafts and bearings in gearboxes will be presented in detail taking into account the dynamic loads occurring. The multi-body simulation including flexible structures by means of the finite-element method and the possible matching with measurements for the calculation of the dynamic loads will be dealt with. Efficient calculation programs and their basics as well as limits of application for the determination of the load distribution in toothings, in particular in planetary gearing stages, will be presented. Modern methods for the diagnosis of vibrations in drives will round off the contents of the two-day special seminar.
