Tough at subzero temperature and highly loadable
Five spur gear units from SGS Sonder Getriebe Service GmbH will be running in a Russian mineral processing plant in the future. As double unbalance exciters they will drive the vibrating screens there. In the cold season the mineral processing plant in Siberia will have to operate at temperatures of up to below -40° C. Even with these extreme temperatures all components have to work reliably. For this purpose, the units were manufactured with special materials tough at subzero temperature. These metal alloys will not become brittle quickly even at very low temperatures. This is a preventive measure against mechanical damage to the components that might result on the components due to the extreme load and the great temperature fluctuations.
