Valve plates for piston compressors

The valve plate is a key component in the piston compressor, with direct impact on its efficiency and reliability. If steel is used, steel splinters can cause severe damage to cylinder, piston and piston ring in case of a failure of the valve plate. In future, such losses can be avoided by using the durable plate of the VICTREX® PEEK 450GL30 type (Fig.); with this plate, end customers, for example in the fertilizer industry, are able to reduce downtimes and downtime costs accordingly. Apart from a clearly extended service life as well as a lower noise level of the polymer plates, the PEEK valve plates contribute to savings in energy during the opening and closing process, since lower losses in air flow arise due to improved wear and surface adjustments, elasticity and tightness.
