The association of construction equipment and building material machinery, which is part of VDMA, organized its road show called “Cement +Minerals” from May 2nd to 10th, 2013 stopping at Peru, Chile and Brazil. Seven companies working in the field of cement engineering and mineral processing did join their forces and invited South American cement manufacturers and mine operators to come and familiarize themselves with the high tech solutions on secondary breaking, thermal treatment, feeding and screening technology, logistics in the cement industry and laboratory techniques which the Germans have on offer, as well as to discuss their local requirements and challenges and get an expert’s point-of-view.
The program did not only include symposia on technology for each country involved, but also provided for bilateral exchange with representatives of the companies and associations, the relevant German Chambers of Commerce and diplomatic missions. The journey aimed at intensifying the business contacts already in place in the individual countries while winning new clients. The Germans did hope to convince their guests by the modern technology and increase in efficiency and quality they can provide. South America is currently profiting from the high demand in ore worldwide. This is helping to boost economic growth. The industry has to urgently invest in modern equipment in order to be better equipped to convey more material more efficiently.
