Halftime
With issue 7/8 of AT MINERAL PROCESSING, we have already left the first half of 2024 behind us. After so many events, congresses and trade fairs, it‘s certainly good for us all to take a deep breath. After the summer/holiday period, the activities for the second half of the year will start again: NordBau 2024 in September, SOLIDS/RECYCLING-TECHNIK in October and the MIRO Forum in November, to name just a few. In the many discussions over the last few months, however, the topics of shaping our economy for the future, CO2 reduction, the circular economy and Germany as a business location have been discussed a lot.
In the article “Climate-friendly circular economy“ (from p. 33), Managing Director Walter Feeß and plant operator Waldemar Rollheiser share their experiences on the topic of the circular economy in the building materials sector. “As mentioned, we have long since reached the point where we should not just talk, but act,“ explains Walter Feeß.
The technical article by Dr. Joachim Harder is dedicated to a completely different topic: “What does the future hold for Australia‘s mining industry?“ (from p. 46). Australia has huge deposits of mineral resources and plays a key role in the production of raw materials such as iron ore, coal, bauxite, gold, base metals and lithium. However, the mining sector is relatively strongly geared towards China‘s demand for raw materials and is therefore dependent on its development. Find out more about the background, correlations and possible future prospects in this exciting article.
Have a relaxing summer and an interesting read
