thyssenkrupp opens new service center in Peru

In December 2021 thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions has opened a second service center in Peru, expanding its mining operations in the country and further strengthening its presence in South America. With the installation of this new unit, which is located in La Joya, in the province of Arequipa, the company now has six service centers in the continent. The other Peru service center is in Matarani, also in Arequipa province, while other locations include Antofagasta/Chile; and in Brazil Parauapebas and Santa Luzia.

Present in the Peruvian mining market for 16 years, the company plans to expand its service portfolio and double the installed capacity in the region. In this new facility, covering an area of around 13 000 m2, thyssenkrupp will offer repairs, maintenance and overhauls of large mining equipment components, including its high pressure grinding rolls (HPGR). The proposal is to offer customized programs for the storage of spare parts and strategic supplies, training plans and personalized technical assistance.
