WEG announces the acquisition of TGM, a Brazilian Manufacturer of Steam Turbines and Transmissions

WEG announced the acquisition of a TGM (Indstria e Comércio de Turbinas e Transmissões Ltda.) TGM is a Brazilian manufacturer of steam turbines and transmissions with headquarters in the city of Sertãozinho, State of São Paulo. Founded in 1991, TGM is a leading Brazilian provider of solutions and equipment for power generator drivers, focusing on thermal and wind renewable energy, from the initial viability studies to the complete plant operation, including systems studies and industrial energy planning. It also supplies equipment for mechanical drives, like exhausters, fans, shredders, water pumps, mills, sugar cane levelers, turbocompressors, turbo blowers, and a specific line for industrial processes.

 

In addition to the facilities located in Sertãozinho, occupying an area of 70 000 m², TGM also has operations in the cities of Maceio (state of Alagoas), São José dos Campos (state of São Paulo) and one in Nuremberg/Germany. Employing around 1000 people, the company revenues were in the range of R$ 238 million (about 70 millions in US$) in 2015.
