TAKRAF opens up site in India

Eleven months after the contract award, the erection of two large excavators was started with the symbolic placing of the first base plates at the end of May 2013. For this purpose, a traditional ceremony took place as part of a so-called Pooja, while a Hindu priest blessed the site and the workers there (Fig.). About 50 guests from TAKRAF India, some partner companies and Neyveli Lignite took part. Within only two years, two large excavators are to be set up based on 5400 t of steel, machinery and electric equipment, which will remove the overburden above the coal in the future. In peak periods about 200 workers will carry out the erection under the supervision of TAKRAF India. The units will be commissioned in the middle of 2015.
