Preventive maintenance of electric motors
At this year’s ACHEMA, WEG will exhibit innovative drive solutions for the process industry, including cost-efficient ATEX asynchronous motors of energy efficiency class IE4. The company will present the new WEG Motor Scan for the first time in Germany. This innovative technology, which can be easily attached to the motor as a retrofit solution with the help of mounting clamps, enables real-time monitoring of electric motors in a cost-efficient way via a smart device app. Based on the selected operating data, maintenance staff can plan preventive and/or predictive maintenance measures. This contributes to an extended life of the motors and to increased plant availability.
Moreover, WEG will exhibit a choice of energy-efficient motors and automation components for the process industry. The highlights include the further development of explosion-proof asynchronous motors of the W22Xd series, which the drive specialist provides up to energy efficiency class IE4, although it is not required by the EU motor directive. Further new exhibits are the ATEX certified gear motors of the WG20 series for zones 2 (gas) and/or 22 (dust).
