Nordhausen Secondary Resources Workshop

The 6th Nordhausen Secondary Resources Workshop (Fig.) will take place from 17. -18.10.2013. As in previous years, it will be opened on the first day of the event at Nordhausen’s long-established traditional destillery. It will begin with Jürgen Reinholz, Thuringia’s Minister of the Environment and patron of the event, reporting on recycling as a cornerstone in improving resource efficiency in Thuringia. Dr Martin Schmitz from DERA (German Mineral Resources Agency) in Berlin will then present developments on the resources markets. In addition, Prof. Dr Sylvia Schade-Dannewitz will report about the candidature for Twenty20 – Partnership for Innovation and give insights into the Forum Twenty20 “Recycling 2.0 – Turnaround in Recyclable Resources” before the first session concludes with a convivial evening gathering.

The talks on 18 October will be held at the facilities of the August Kramer Institute at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. Speakers from research and industry will report on the following topics:

• Waste-to-material and waste-to-energy recycling

• Quality assurance of waste-derived fuels (sampling to analysis)

• Processes and machines for waste treatment and recycling

• Analysis parameters and systems; state of the art and foreseeable trends.
