Feeding solutions from Brabender Technologie
The speciality expertise of Brabender Technologie GmbH & Co. KG focuses on reliable solutions for feeding a wide range of media in all industries that process bulk solids. The Duisburg-based company presented a representative cross-section at SOLIDS Dortmund 2014 (Fig.).
Key features of the Brabender-FlexWall®Plus feeders with a trapezoidal shape and paddle-massaged flexible hopper are a uniform screw filling level and a mass flow ensuring gentle handling of the bulk solids. The trapezoidal design effects the natural flow of the bulk solids while the paddles with their adjustable amplitude ensure optimum flow of the bulk solids into the screw as a result of the hopper massage. The feeders can be adapted to handle almost every conceivable bulk solid thanks to interchangeable screws. They can be dismantled easily for fast cleaning. For the feeding of different bulk solids, only one feeder is necessary, as a result of which investment costs can be reduced substantially in processes with frequent bulk solids changeovers. The compact trapezoidal shape also allows a space-saving circular arrangement.
The application range of Brabender twin-screw feeders starts where single-screw feeders fail in handling critical bulk solids. The feeders can handle poorly flowing and flooding media, eliminate functional faults with the associated downtime and production shortfalls. Brabender vibrating tray feeders are suitable for handling granular or lumpy bulk solids with sensitive or easily damaged particles. The principle of this feeder prevents mechanical loading of the bulk solids and guarantees high production quality without particle destruction. High feeding rates with a low space requirement can be achieved especially with Brabender weigh-belt feeders: compact models for feeding rates to 150 t/h perform efficiently where comparable rates with other feeders would necessitate expensive rebuilding to increase the space available. Thanks to the gentle feeding principle, weigh-belt feeders are also suitable for easily damaged and lumpy bulk solids.
