Expansion of a goldmine in Turkey

Amec Foster Wheeler today announces the award of a contract by Anagold Madencilik to provide basic design verification services for the expansion of the Çöpler Gold Mine in Turkey. The contract includes the verification of the basic design package performed by a third party. Concurrently with the design verification activities, Amec Foster Wheeler will also prepare a proposal for the engineering, procurement and construction phase.

The work is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2015. Once completed, the Cöpler Sulphide Expansion Project will enable the facility to process 5000 t/d of sulphide ore over the planned 20-year mine life, in addition to the existing heap leach processing of oxide ore.
