Conveyor Belt Drives for Raw Material Production
CURRAX supplies the entire drive chain for conveyor belts in primary and raw material production with Siemens components. Conveyor belt drives are often exposed to extreme conditions, such as long distances, tight spaces and harsh climatic environments, to name just a few. The SIMOTICS FD Motors are designed with exactly these situations in mind. In a power range of between 200 and 1800 kw and fitted with cast iron housing, they are highly robust and resilient. Equipped with a wide range of cooling methods, such as open, closed or water cooling, they enable perfect adaptation to the specific requirements of the task at hand. The SIMOTICS FD Motor features high power density at low construction volumes, high overload capacity and a broad spectrum of options for tailor-made solutions. The temperature behaviour of the gear unit in continuous operation is a key factor in what makes the drive reliable. This is determined by the environmental conditions and the gear unit’s own temperature development.
CURRAX also offers RUPEX Bolt coupling as an additional element in conveyor belt drives. These are used as elastic compensating couplings wherever a reliable torque transmission is needed under harsh operating conditions. The model range boasts a torque range of between 200 and 1300 nm. The conical seat of the buffer pins makes for easy mounting and guarantees low-maintenance operation.
