Anniversary with great festive event and Technology Days
Today’s HAVER & BOECKER OHG dates back to the year 1887 when the company was founded by Carl Haver and Eduard Boecker at Hohenlimburg. In 1897 the company moved to Oelde in Westphalia, where the head office has been located since then. In addition to wire weaving, the engineering works established in 1925 has developed into the second mainstay of the company.
125 years after its foundation, the company has developed into a global player with more than 50 international subsidiaries. New business areas were gradually opened up and further developments made. The 125 years of a successful company development were celebrated in August 2012 within the framework of a festive event (Fig. 1) and an open day in the Wire Weaving Division as well as the HAVER TECHNOLOGY DAYS. About 350 customers, representatives and employees of the HAVER Group from Germany and abroad met for the HAVER TECHNOLOGY DAYS 2012 in the A2 Forum in Rheda/Germany (Fig. 2). The objective of the event was to inform international guests about the organisational and technical developments originating from the family-owned company, to get a feel for the international tendencies and to bundle activities within the HAVER Group.
On the first day of the event, called the Strategy Day, Managing Director and Partner of Haver & Boecker Dr. Reinhold Festge was able to line-up a number of renowned speakers: Prof. Dr. Georg Unland (Saxony State Minister for Finance and Professor at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg), Dr. Martin Wansleben (General Managing Director of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce), Dr. Aliko Dangote (President of the Dangote Group in Nigeria; (Fig. 3).
In addition, Dr. Fabian Festge (General Manager of HAVER IBAU INDIA) reported on the current development in Asia, and Florian Festge (General Manager of W.S.TYLER) presented HAVER & TYLER, an alliance of the newly formed HAVER NIAGARA GmbH (formerly the Machinery Division Münster/Germany), HAVER & BOECKER Latinoamericana/Brazil and W.S. TYLER/Canada. The reason for the alliance of the three subsidiary companies was the increasing demand for mineral processing technology and the decreasing quality of mineral deposits and reserves worldwide. HAVER & TYLER replaces the name of the Haver Screening Group and is characterized by joint development and the management of markets as well as bundling of expertise.
The product range of HAVER & TYLER reflects the quality-oriented processes of the mining, industrial minerals and aggregates sectors, and ranges from mineral processing and washing of materials, or the processing of the good materials directly or the pelletizing of the fine share for example up to a marketable product. The screening, washing and pelletising technologies of HAVER & TYLER are used in the coal, ore, diamond, gems and gold industries. They are also right at home in the sand, gravel, natural stone and recycling industries. Other areas of application include the cement, lime and gypsum industries. The know-how of HAVER & TYLER reaches from the characterization of the basic materials up to the complete design and planning of entire installations and systems.
In a large exhibition hall of HAVER & BOECKER in Oelde, the parent company and its subsidiary companies Feige Filling, Sommer, Newtec Bag Palletizing and IBAU HAMBURG presented the mainstays of their product lines. In addition, the new partner MSK Tensiontech demonstrated its stretch hood system. Products from the newly acquired subsidiary company Newtec Bag Palletizing were shown to customers for the first time (Fig. 4). Both palletizers Agropal G300 and Batipal 4000 generated much interest. Thanks to the palletizer, HAVER & BOECKER is now able to offer a complete process chain.
The SpeedFlexx Loader (Fig. 5), a new development from HAVER & BOECKER, attracted a great deal of attention due to its high loading speed and the unique logistical flexibility it offers to the market. The SpeedFlexx now rounds out HAVER shipping logistics by combining direct, just-in-time, loading and conventional palletizing technology with stocking. With this new development HAVER & BOECKER has now become a full line provider.
On the second day, the Technology Day focused on the latest technical trends and developments. Speakers from the specialised departments of HAVER & BOECKER, and the companies with whom the business units of Cement, Building Materials + Minerals and Chemicals of HAVER & BOECKER work together, informed customers about the technical innovations from their companies. The third day of the conference, the Communication Day, was reserved for the employees of the HAVER Group.
Dr. Reinhold Festge (Fig. 6) was pleased that his sons Florian (W.S. TYLER) and Dr. Fabian Festge (HAVER IBAU INDIA) were able to take part as managing directors of a HAVER subsidiary. With effect from January 1, 2014, Dr. Reinhold Festge will hand over the management of the Machinery Division to his sons.
The next HAVER TECHNOLOGY DAYS is planned to take place in 2-3 years time.
