Anniversary

Polysius AG, a company belonging to ThyssenKrupp Technologies, celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2009. In 1859 the master locksmith Andreas Ernst Gottfried Polysius established his own workshop in Dessau laying the foundations for the global player of today. Already at the end of the 19th century the company, which was now managed by the second generation, began to manufacture grinding plants for the then emerging cement industry. Focussing on the manufacture of this equipment, in the course of time, the company succeeded in establishing itself as one of the leading engineering companies for equipment for the cement industry. In the meantime, this also applies to the mineral materials industry by adapting the products originally developed for the cement industry.
